Creating a Minimalist Wardrobe with Twice Blessed
A minimalist wardrobe is one that emphasises quality and longevity, with a few key pieces highlighting thoughtful details such as fabric, fit and feel.
Marissa and Bec of Twice Blessed have mastered the art of minimalist dressing, favouring classic silhouettes and using colour and texture to create visual interest in their looks.
Here, Marissa and Bec share their approach to a pared-back wardrobe and the signature styles that streamline everyday outfitting.
As we've gotten older (and maybe wiser), we've realised that quality is truly better than quantity when creating a minimalist and timeless wardrobe. Not only are we now focusing on quality garments, but we're also paying particular attention to excellent cuts and silhouettes.Marissa & Bec Of Twice Blessed
To us, a good minimalist wardrobe focuses on trans-seasonal style essentials that can harmoniously work together—regardless of your own personal style, colour preferences or lifestyle!
To help us create a minimal look, we focus on making it visually streamlined; thinking about the whole look harmoniously from top to bottom. If our base colour is black, we try to incorporate as much of that colour as possible, whilst adding pops of detail through a second or third colour, as well as finishing touches like jewellery or accessories. We also prefer to colour-sandwich our looks with most of the contrasting tones in the centre of our outfit, which is generally our top half.

“One of our favourite techniques is to combine feminine and masculine elements together. This could mean styling fluid, soft trousers with strong, chunky accessories and shoes (like square toe brogues), or a soft feminine dress with a chunky lug sole boot. Bringing contrasting elements together like this helps to create a dynamic and interesting outfit.”

“There's something really elegant about layering different textures and tones together. We love how on paper, these outfits are very classic and pared-back, however when you play with proportion and texture you're able to create a very unique look. Think puff sleeves and fluted hemlines.”
Look 03
“We love a chic, casual look. The easiest way for us to instantly elevate and up-style these 'athleisure wear' looks is to throw on a classic black blazer and relaxed palazzo trousers.”
